On November 11th, 2007 a tiny three pound one ounce baby came into the world who changed this blogger’s life forever. Things were touch and go at first for baby Madeline, but after ten stressful weeks in the NICU she finally came home. Today she is a lot like every other baby: adorable, bizarre, perfect, frustrating, and pretty much my new best friend.

After events took place that were not so different than those seen in the film Mr. Mom, I left my job as an inner city high school English teacher to stay at home with Maddie while my wife, Heather, brought home the euphemistic bacon. Her blog, www.thespohrsaremultiplying.com has done a great job of telling the world about our amazing little girl from the perspective of an awesome, always on the ball mom. This blog tells Maddie’s story from the perspective of an often overwhelmed, but always enthusiastic stay at home dad whose idea of responsibility not too long ago was remembering to buy his friends a six-pack on their birthdays.

I hope you enjoy what you read…just please don’t forward any of it to the authorities.
